Maximilian Ulysses Browne was born in Basel on October 23, 1705. He became a prominent Austrian military officer and field marshal, rising through the ranks of the Habsburg army during the 18th century. His family background was part of the exiled Irish nobility, and his military career included commanding forces in major European campaigns.
