Adrienne von Speyr was born on September 20, 1902. She was a Swiss physician, mystic, and author who converted to Catholicism in Basel, where she practiced medicine and raised her family. Her collaboration with Hans Urs von Balthasar and her role in founding the Johannesgemeinschaft made her a significant figure in Catholic spirituality, and she died in Basel in 1967.
