In June 2026, the Canton of Baselland recorded a total of 235,882 vehicles. This represents an increase of 2,668 vehicles, or 1.14 percent, compared to June 2025. The five largest vehicle categories were passenger cars with 155,374 vehicles, motorcycles with 24,391, delivery vans with 15,698, mopeds with 13,741, and goods transport trailers with 8,120. The overall number of vehicles increased compared to previous months.

The five municipalities with the highest number of passenger cars and delivery vans combined were Reinach BL with 11,108 vehicles, Allschwil with 10,450, Pratteln with 9,893, Muttenz with 9,792, and Liestal with 9,332. The data does not specify which municipality recorded the largest decrease or the largest increase in total vehicles compared to the previous year.

Among passenger cars, 123,227 ran on petrol, 57,157 on diesel, 20,998 were electric, 18,159 were petrol-electric hybrids, and 2,463 were diesel-electric hybrids. Electric cars accounted for 13.5 percent of the total passenger car fleet. The combined share of hybrid and electric cars was 26.8 percent.
